Getting it
Coming to the App Store
How do I get it?
Vector Actions is coming to the App Store for $4.99, once: no subscription, no account, nothing to buy inside the app. It's in App Review now. Step-by-step help for every part of the app is in the Help Center.
What does setup ask?
The first time it opens, it asks which calendar timed actions should go to (Apple, Google or Outlook, or Not Now) and whether to offer Send to Notes after you talk. Change either any time in the app's Settings tab.
It asks for the microphone, speech and my calendar
It asks for the microphone and speech recognition the first time you record, and for your calendar when you choose one in setup or the first time something needs to go on it. Choose Full Access so it can list your calendars by name. If you said no by mistake: iPhone Settings → Vector Actions, and turn them on.
My recording came back as one long action
Sorting speech into separate actions, steps and times uses Apple Intelligence, so it needs an iPhone 15 Pro or newer with Apple Intelligence turned on. On other iPhones a recording is kept whole as one action, never thrown away, and typing, dates, the calendar, steps, categories, repeats and lists all still work.
Calendar and Notes
Where your actions go
My Google or Outlook calendar isn't listed
Vector Actions uses the calendar accounts already on your iPhone, so the account has to be there first: iPhone Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account, choose Google or Outlook.com (Microsoft Exchange for a work account), sign in, and make sure Calendars is on. Then open Vector Actions, Settings → Calendar. If your account has its own name on the iPhone, look under Other calendars on this iPhone.
Does it sign in to Google or Microsoft?
No. It never sees your password. Your iPhone already syncs those calendars; Vector Actions adds events to the one you picked, and your account syncs them as usual.
How do I keep a running list in Apple Notes?
After you talk, tap Send to Notes (or the share button at the top right) and choose Notes. The first time, just tap Save: it makes a note named Vector Actions. Every time after, tap New Note at the bottom of the Notes panel and choose your Vector Actions note instead, so each send is added to it, dated, with what's open and what got done.
Nothing goes on my calendar by itself
Check Settings → Calendar in the app: a calendar has to be chosen, and Add to the calendar by itself has to be on. An action only goes on when you've said (or set) both a day and a time.
Your actions
Where they live
Are my actions backed up?
Your actions live on this iPhone only. There is no account and no server, so deleting the app deletes them. To keep a list, share it to yourself (an email or a note) before you delete the app.
I closed something by mistake
Nothing is deleted by closing it: it drops into Done, with Undo at the bottom, and swiping it in Done reopens it.
