Getting Started

What Vector does and how the app is laid out.

The idea

Vector is an accountability app. Something needs attention, someone owns fixing it, they prove it was fixed, and someone checks it. Every step is recorded, and nothing on the record can be quietly changed afterwards.

Vector Dashboard: open, overdue, due soon and closed counts, Upcoming Audits, and the Overdue Spotlight

The loop every item follows

  1. Raise itSay what needs attention and where
  2. Own itGive it to one person, with a due date
  3. Work itProgress notes and photos as it moves
  4. Prove itA photo of the fixed condition
  5. Verify itSomeone confirms it and closes it

The five tabs

  • DashboardShows where things stand across your organization
  • My WorkLists what is yours; its + raises an item
  • Walk, in the middle, is where you start a walk, join one and flag findings
  • HistoryHolds every audit, and the audits announced for later
  • SettingsIs your account, your team and this Help Center

Action owners fix things rather than walk audits, so they have four tabs: no Walk.

Audits are one source, not the only one

An item can come from an audit walk, or straight from a person: a manager who needs something done sends it as a direct action. Both follow the same loop.

Items are numbered VX-0001, VX-0002 and so on. Quote the number and anyone can find it.
