Doing the Work

Start, tick the definition of done, flag a slip, and submit.

Start and submit

  1. 1Choose “Start work” when you begin. It also starts on its own when you add your first files.
  2. 2Tick each item of the definition of done as it becomes true.
  3. 3Attach the work product under Work product.
  4. 4Choose “Submit for sign-off”. It needs the files attached and every item ticked.

The deliverable says exactly what's still missing before you can submit. Work sent back at a gate needs its revision attached as a new version first.

Your move on your own work: what's missing before submitting, Request what I need, Link existing work and Flag a slip

Your time starts when your inputs are ready

Your clock starts when the work you depend on is verified, not when it is sent. If it's verified after your planned start, your date moves by the same number of days, and those days are counted as inherited, never as yours.

Flag a slip

If your own work will take longer, choose “Flag a slip”, say how many extra days, pick the reason and say what happened. Your working time grows, your first promise is kept for the record, and the days count as yours. The reasons: Vendor / material, Scope change, Waiting on a decision, Underestimated the work, Resource pulled away, and Rework.

Flag early. Five or more days ahead counts as flagged early; one to four days is short notice; on or after the due date is a surprise. Late inputs are recorded for you automatically, so never report them here.
